Co-creating with companies

Both the state of Berlin, the federal government and the European Union offer a variety of programs on thematic priorities such as energy, mobility and ICT, as well as other current challenges facing the smart cities of tomorrow. Often there are specific submission deadlines or other access requirements that need expert knowledge. We therefore work closely with the cluster experts at the Economic Development Agency.

City Challenge Berlin 2026 – apply by 24 May!

It’s that time again. The City Challenge Berlin is entering its second round: following last year’s successful launch, Berlin has now relaunched the competition. We are looking for specific solutions to two current challenges facing Berlin’s public administration: ‘intelligent voice assistance’ and ‘smart roadworks information’.

Luftraum Stadt: Neue Perspektiven für urbane Drohnenlogistik in Berlin

Im Reallabor U-Space wird untersucht, welche Rolle und unter welchen Voraussetzung Drohnen im Berliner Alltag eine Rolle spielen. In den Symposien diskutieren Vertreter:innen aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft, Poilitik und Stadtgesellschaft die Möglichkeiten neuer Geschäftsmodelle sowie Fragen zu Stadtentwicklung, Akzeptanz und Regulierung.

2026 Open Source Competition Launched

This year’s Open Source Competition is all about “Modern Administration. Innovation. Digital Sovereignty.” Government agencies at all levels, as well as public companies and institutions, are invited to submit projects that reflect this theme. The competition is organized by the Open Source Business Alliance (OSBA). The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2026.
