Smart Country Startup Award 2025
Apply by August 15! With the Smart Country Startup Award, Bitkom promotes good ideas and innovative concepts relating to smart cities and digital administration. The winner's package has a value of around 10,000 euros and hightlights the public visibility of the award winners.
Visionary ideas for the smart city of tomorrow – that's what the Smart Country Startup Award 2025 is all about. Until August 15, start-ups that are no more than five years old can submit outstanding ideas, prototypes, and products in two categories:
- Smart City category: digital solutions that directly improve people's lives – for example, in the areas of mobility, the environment, health, supply and disposal, or education.
- GovTech category: digital technologies that make bureaucratic processes faster and smarter.
The finalists of the Smart Country Startup Award 2025 will be invited to a pitch event on October 1 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The winning start-up will receive a stage slot in the following year worth a total of €10,000, a one-year Get Started membership in Bitkom, and will be involved in communication measures that increase its visibility.

The Smart Country Startup Award 2025 will be presented at this year's Smart Country Convention (SCCON), which will take place from September 30 to October 2 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. With more than 18,000 participants, around 400 exhibitors, and 650 speakers, SCCON is the leading event for anyone involved in the digitalization of the public sector. SCCON is organized by Bitkom and Messe Berlin. (vdo)
