Technologiestiftung Berlin: “How Berlin can make better use of its data”
Data is a key foundation for decision-making, innovation and modern public administration. Yet it is often difficult to locate. In part three of the series “Empowering Berlin digitally”, the Technologiestiftung Berlinv(TSB) examines how Berlin can be better governed throughmore accessible data.
In Berlin, like in other big cities, the search for data often leads to various places. Within public administrations, for example, data is scattered across different systems, registers and specialist procedures, making it difficult to locate. In the series “Berlin digital handlungsfähig machen” (“Empowering Berlin digitally”), the Technologiestiftung Berlin addresses a total of four topics of paramount importance for the city’s digital future.
The current, third issue focuses on data and its targeted use. Using concrete examples such as the Umweltatlas Berlin, the GeoExplorer and the Data Hub Berlin Prototype, the benefits of effective data management for a better administrative governance are demonstrated in very practical terms.
