Energy net Adlershof

More than 1000 enterprises and research institutions with about 22,000 employees have settled on an area of 4.2 square kilometres at the high technology location Adlershof. It is the location’s aim to reduce the primary energy requirement by 30% in 2020. The ‘Energienetz Berlin Adlershof‘, a joint project of the Technische Universität Berlin, Siemens AG and the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin will contribute to achieve this objective by creating a basis for planning an efficient energy supply to city quarters. The project focusses on the Centre for Photonics and Optics which is to improve the energy efficiency when producing refrigeration by using a de-centralised refrigeration network.
