Adlershof Glass CHP plant

The cogeneration unit was built by the Blockheizkraftwerks-Träger- und Betreibergesellschaft mbH (BTB), which also operates the plant.

The block-type thermal power station with 386 kW electrical and 510 kW thermal output achieves an electricity efficiency of 38.6 percent and an overall efficiency of 89.7 percent. It is not powered by natural gas, but by biogas and is regarded as a pioneer in the use of biomethane. The heat generated in the CHP unit is CO2-neutral and fed into the district heating network at the Adlershof science and technology site.

The plant is also known as a "glass CHP plant" and presents itself to interested parties in a glazed building with a green pergola.
