Field trials have shown so far that electrically driven commercial vehicles can only be operated within tight logistical constraints – typically used as distribution vehicle in the city with little change in their routes. The objective here is to prepare and implement a concept that guarantees the fleet operators a freedom of disposition comparable to that of diesel vehicles. This will give the fleet operators a wider range of operations, thus increasing the efficiency and improving the commercial acceptance of electrically driven commercial vehicles. "RouteCharge" uses replacement batteries for lorries along the travel path to be able to manage larger distances, whereby the batteries are incorporated in the energy net as primary controls (Dual use).
